UN standards and norms

In cooperation with the UNODC, HEUNI has developed instruments for the assessment of the compliance of Member States to the UN standards and norms related to different aspects of the criminal justice system.

HEUNI has also promoted to the development of Criminal justice education at international level, with particular focus on the UN standards and norms related to criminal justice.

Much of the work of the UN Crime Programme takes places in formal meetings. The Director of HEUNI, Dr Matti Joutsen, has prepared a series of brief guides to help persons attending such meetings to prepare and make effective use of these meetings.
