Council of Europe
The Council of Europe is the guardian of many important conventions related to HEUNI’s field of expertise, such as the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, known as the Istanbul convention. HEUNI has participated in the Council’s work through commissioned studies.
Study on the costs of violence against women in Poland: The study estimated the costs of domestic and sexual violence against women in Poland, based on data on justice, health and social sectors. A model approach on how to assess costs of violence against women in other Council of Europe member states was developed. For more information contact heuni(at)om.fi
