Information sheets on “Homicide and Gender" and “Trafficking in Persons and Gender" published in connection with the 13th UNCCPC in Doha, Qatar

Published 3.7.2015
HEUNI and the UNODC are conducting a joint research project utilizing data from the UN Crime Trend Surveys. The project examines global crime trends, with gender as the focus of analysis.

Two information sheets were published in April 2015 in connection with the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, held in Doha, Qatar. The “Homicide and Gender" sheet presents the results by region and age, as well as figures on intimate partner and family-related homicide. The second one is on “Trafficking in Persons and Gender" (the links are provided below). Two more reports have been prepared: “Drugs and Gender", as well as gender and attrition in the criminal justice system, analyzing police data, and data on convictions and imprisonment.

The information sheets are based on report that will be published by the end of 2015 in the HEUNI publication series. This report will be based also on other data sources such as the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics.
