The second ADSTRINGO Expert Consultation Meeting was organised in Vilnius, Lithuania on 12-13 March 2014. The meeting was a continuation of the previous ADSTRINGO expert meeting which was organised in Stockholm in December 2013 to discuss prevention of labour exploitation in the Baltic Sea region.

Also this time the invited experts included representatives of government institutions (e.g. labour inspectorates), non-governmental organisations, trade unions, academia, as well as private sector (e.g. representatives of employment and recruitment agencies in the region), and international organisations including International Labour Organisation (ILO), International Organisation of Employers (IOE), International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM). The meeting was hosted by the Lithuanian Ministry of Interior.

The Consultation Meeting focused on discussing a draft version of the guidelines to prevent abusive recruitment, exploitative employment and trafficking of migrant workers which was prepared by Liliana Sorrentino and Anniina Jokinen. The experts were invited to provide commentary and feedback on the draft and to share practical recommendations, challenges, national experiences and lessons learned in view of improving the guidelines. The meeting was very fruitful and interesting views and ideas were raised in the discussion covering topics addressed in the guidelines. The draft guidelines will be edited and finalised based on the feedback and the final report will be published in June 2014.
